Who this app is for
Pit Collector is a die-cast collecting app that children use with a parent or guardian. Because it is directed to children under 13, we follow the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar rules elsewhere: a grown-up must give consent before photo scanning or purchases are switched on.
What we collect
- • Collection data — the die-cast cars added, points, trophies and garage decorations.
- • Account data (optional) — an email address and display name if a grown-up creates an account so the collection syncs between devices. Accounts are meant to be created by the parent.
- • Toy photos — a photo is sent to our AI identification service only to recognise the car. It is not stored in our database and is not used to train models.
- • A device identifier — a random ID kept on the device to apply scan limits. It is not linked to advertising and does not identify a person.
We ask children for no more information than is needed to play. There is no chat, no public profile, no location tracking, and no way for a child to share personal details with other users.
How photos are used
When photo scanning is approved, the picture is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our AI provider, analysed for the character, colour and model, and then discarded. We keep only the identification result you choose to save to the collection. Encourage kids to photograph the toy, not people.
Parental consent and controls
On first launch a grown-up completes an adult check and decides whether photo scanning and purchases are allowed. Parent Mode is protected by a 4-digit PIN and locks itself after five minutes of inactivity. From Parent Mode you can change those permissions, export the collection as a CSV, delete all data, or withdraw consent entirely.
Purchases and money
Optional paid items are always behind the parent PIN — a child cannot reach a payment screen on their own. Prices are shown in full before any confirmation, there are no loot boxes, and points earned by collecting are never purchasable by children.
Advertising
We never show behavioural or personalised advertising to children and we do not sell or share personal information. Any promotional space appears only inside PIN-protected Parent Mode.
Data retention and deletion
Collection data stays until it is deleted. A parent can delete everything from Parent Mode, which clears the collection, points and garage on the device and in the account. Withdrawing consent stops photo scanning immediately.
